This is a senior technical role for a power systems engineer who can provide depth, judgement and technical leadership.


About the Company


This organisation operates a major electricity distribution network and is investing in the planning capability required to support a rapidly changing energy system. The Future Energy Planning function is responsible for understanding future network requirements, assessing emerging constraints and ensuring the network can accommodate changing generation and demand.

The Network Planning team is strengthening its senior technical capability as renewable generation, data centres and other significant connections create increasingly complex planning requirements.


Requirements


  • Strong power systems engineering experience with demonstrated network planning capability
  • Advanced experience with power system simulation and analysis tools such as PowerFactory, PSS/E or PSCAD
  • Ability to lead complex technical studies and provide authoritative engineering recommendations
  • Experience assessing network constraints, system performance, future demand or generation connections
  • Strong technical communication skills with the ability to guide and influence other engineers
