About the Company

Our client is a major infrastructure services organisation supporting the operation, maintenance and lifecycle management of essential network assets. With capability spanning utilities and critical infrastructure, the business provides specialist technical expertise to help clients safely operate, maintain and upgrade complex assets.

They are seeking an experienced High Voltage & Hazardous Area Specialist to support the management of HV and hazardous area assets across operational water and wastewater facilities. You will work closely with operational teams, project delivery teams, specialist contractors and other stakeholders to ensure assets remain safe, compliant, maintainable and operational.

The position will lead operational and maintenance design reviews, HV outage planning and switching programs, while providing specialist input into asset renewals, upgrades and new installations. You will also coordinate specialist subcontractors and consultants, maintain key HV and hazardous area documentation and contribute to continuous improvement across electrical asset management and safety.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree or Certificate III/IV electrical trade qualification, with an unrestricted Queensland Electrical Licence.
• Minimum 10 years' electrical experience with a demonstrated high-voltage background, including HV outage planning and specialist electrical subcontractor management.
• Current HV Switching, Access Permit Issuer and Recipient competencies, plus a valid driver's licence.
• Experience with Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas, or willingness to undertake the required training; RPEQ is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving and leadership capability, with experience coordinating technical work, safety requirements and operational priorities.
